In a previous article I wrote about the “Girl who lied about being raped by two boys“. Well this week, according to Metro News, those boys have been convicted of rape.
Mr Justice Saunders refused their pleas to throw the case out after the girl told the court she lied to her mother about what had happened because she had been ‘naughty’ and was worried she would not get any sweets.
He said it was the jury’s job to decide if the witness could be trusted.
Erm WTF? Yes, its a bit “boy (or in this case girl) who cried wolf” but seriously? She said they didn’t do it, but now they’re being convicted anyway? Seems a bit mad really. What’s happening to the justice system. If these boys are truly innocent, surely putting them on the sex offenders register is just a good way of ruining their lives before it’s even begun (properly). I will concede that if they actually did rape her then they need some serious help and the future isn’t looking good, but there’s something not quite right about the whole case.

So screwed up, not really sure how 8 y/o boys can end up on the SOL in the first place, they obviously just need help/educating.
