I am a trade-in noob

I’ve been a gamer for many years now and I’ve loved every second. But I’ve never, ever traded games in before for two reasons. Firstly, they never give you the true value (as I see it) often you’ll only get a handful of pound coins for something you paid £40 for originally. To me that always seemed like a loss – I’d rather keep it in the hope that one day I might play it again. And that’s the second reason.

But things are different now. I’m old(er) and married. My PS3 gathers dust most of the time or just acts as a (good) Blu Ray player. Not because I don’t like playing on it, but because games are too expensive and my wife hogs the TV.

So, as the pile of half played games grew and grew I realised I’d just be better offer trading them in. I thought about Music Magpie but they monies they were offering were almost robbery. So Game was my next stop. I’d just recently completed LA Noire and frankly found it ‘meh’ so the chances of playing it again were low. Grabbing some older games I took them and LA Noire to Game. To my surprise they offered me 30 quid for LA Noire – a game I only paid about £35 for in the first place. The others were pittance but combined I got Duke Nukem: Forever for free and a £5 voucher. Nice.

Might have to do this trade in malarkey more often.
