DJ Format

The other day I discovered DJ Format on Twitter @djformat4. I was rather pleased I’d found him, but frankly disappointed by his lack of followers. Format is (in my opinion) a truly tremendous Hip-Hop legend. A brilliantly talented, British DJ who is highly under-appreciated.

So I Tweeted an #FF saying people should follow him. Monday morning I came in and found he was following me. So I tweeted again:

Currently being followed by @djformat4 - which is pretty awesome and has made me feel special on Monday. Looking forward to the next album.

I was rather pleased. Anyway, he actually replied. Fantastic. A legend replying to me! This is what Twitter is great for. When used properly it’s a great way to interact with an audience. Having someone you’d otherwise never even get to say hello to talk back to you is fantastic and only goes to enhance your profile and respect. Obviously, now I’m following him and he’s actually taken the time to reply to me, I’m more likely to help promote his stuff by Re-tweeting his posts. Win win.

Businesses can learn from this too. It’s nice to see businesses use their Twitter account to help users. @OrangeHelpers are a good example. You tweet issues with your Orange phone to them and a helpful team respond. Very nice too.

Anyway, enough waffle. Go follow DJ Format if you know what’s good for you. If you need a reason why, check out this video:
